You don’t need to be Bill Gates to build your own website.
You also don't need to pay for services like SQUARESPACE, Wix or weebly.
Guess what! WordPress is free and with a minimal amount of training and practice you'll feel like a big time web developer.
The only thing you'll need to pay for is hosting, a domain name and maybe a web template. Just about everything else is gratis.
You can find single site hosting services for around $5.00 a month. A domain name costs approximately $11.00 per year. Web templates can be had for less than $50.00.
What else might you need? Photos? A logo?
If you were to pay for a year of hosting upfront, a domain name, a template, twenty images (but you could take those yourself) and a professionally designed logo; you're looking at around $500.00, out the door.
You think that is a lot? Pay a "developer" that amount and do you know what your site will look like? (not good) You won't be able to improve it, because you won't know how and developers that build $500.00 websites aren't around for long.
Do what I did: Receive some training to get you started. Get a site up and work on it on a regular basis. You'll be surprised how easy it is.
